Eyes
As i travel to and from work everyday, i am amused by how everyone is either buried in their newspapers or books or other reading material, or sleeping. Worse, people have got their mp3 players stuck in their ears. I find it difficult to comprehend that people are willing to just stay in their little bubble called their lives.Instead of reading, why not see the world through your own eyes instead of through the author? Instead of closing your eyes to dream, why not open your eyes to reality which in itself is already so surreal?
Instead of listening to your playlist of mp3, why not listen to the conversations about the plight of the burmese or the chinese who at the very moment are struggling to stay alive?
There are so many things going on around you- the innocence of a child when she smiles, the lines on the faces of the elderly when they frown. Those lines probably hid a story between their folds - of hardship and pain, of tough times in the past.
Watch and learn. Observe and question. Contemplate and reflect.
That's the part which is most fascinating for me each day - a journey to and from work.
